The fuss around the newest Helldivers 2 Warbond isn't just about whether players can grind Super Credits forever. That's the loud version of the argument. The quieter one is harder to brush off: can a live-service shooter sell premium gear, cosmetics, and Helldivers 2 Items without making ordinary players feel like they're slowly being pushed toward their wallet? Helldivers 2 earned goodwill because its Warbonds don't vanish, and because Super Credits can be found in missions. That still matters. But when fresh content drops, people don't ask theory questions. They ask, "Can I get this without turning my evening into a farming route?"
Why The Super Credit Argument Feels MessyCalling it an "infinite Super Credit" issue makes it sound like someone found a magic cash button. That's not really what most players mean. Super Credits can appear in missions again and again, so there isn't a simple one-time cap. You can search points of interest, crack open bunkers, check containers, and come away with a little extra currency. Fine. That's part of the game. The trouble starts when the smartest way to earn currency is also the dullest way to play. Nobody bought Helldivers 2 to jog through quiet maps counting pickups while the actual war happens somewhere else.
What Players Are Really ComparingMost of the debate comes down to time. A player who runs missions four nights a week may see the system as fair enough. They build a stockpile without thinking too much about it. A casual player, though, might play one or two sessions and get almost nowhere near the next Warbond price. Same game, different economy. That's why the community keeps talking past itself. Here's the rough shape of the split.
  • Casual players want progress without treating Super Credits like homework.
  • Regular players can usually mix normal missions with a bit of farming.
  • Hardcore players often think the complaints are overblown because they've already banked credits.
  • Completionists feel pressure from Warbonds and rotating store cosmetics at the same time.
The Difference Between Playing And GrindingThere's nothing wrong with looking for Super Credits while clearing objectives. That's normal exploration. There's also nothing shocking about squads running easier missions because they want a better credit-per-hour rate. Players optimise games. They always have. But cheats, scripts, and shady tools are a different matter, and they're not part of this debate in any useful way. The real design question is whether the game quietly rewards less exciting behaviour. This table shows why the same system can feel fair to one person and annoying to another.

Don't buy a Warbond on day one just because the trailer looked spicy. Wait for players to test the weapons. See whether the armour passive actually fits your loadout. Spend on gameplay first and cosmetics later if your balance is low. And if farming starts making you annoyed at the game, stop doing it. Some players may choose to buy Helldivers 2 Items for convenience, but that choice should feel optional, not like the sensible escape from a grind you never wanted in the first place.
